The UK is undertaking its largest and most complex Digital Transformation in over thirty years. We have the PSTN / ISDN / WLR switch off along with the consolidation of BT Openreach's Exchange estate from 6000 to 1000 forming the new UK superfast core and all IP network. 

We have the sunsetting of the UK's 2G and 3G networks during 2023/24 to enable the completion of the 5G RAN enablement and the transition from the temporary 5G NSA to the full 5G SA Core enabling the true business value of 5G to be enabled through IOT / MIMO / Ultra Low Latency and Mobile Edge.

 

Finally and the most exciting proposition in our view we have the business transformation to a services based ( XaaS )  business model across all customer sectors.  This is enabled by orchestration and automation of the business process and data. Chief Digital Officer

Joined the then Horizon Capital PE owned Timico ISP in Oct 2020 as Chief Digital Officer and member of the exec team to drive the strategy and solution portfolio transformation to enable the planned Horizon PE exit in 2022.   Rebuilt the portfolio and presales / solutions architects team from point solution network ISP services to one of the UK's leading Cloud MSP and Digital Transformation providers through the Connected, Productive and Secure Cloud solutions. Digital Space now enables their customers to embrace and maximise the capabilities of cloud architecture to transform their business models and deliver at the hyper-scale of the digital economy.

I was also responsible for building and enabling the Digital Space Ecosystem of core partners through the core delivery of an E2E Managed Services platform linking the complex and dynamic requirements for hybrid cloud, connectivity and security.

In 2022 Digital Space became one of the fastest growing Fortinet SDWAN UK based MSP's even beating Fortinet's own incredible growth rate in 2022 and went from near zero to over £ 16 mill of TCV SDWAN managed solutions in the 12 months of 2022 along with a pipeline to double in 2023. 

We completed the project with the sale of Digital Space from Horizon Capital to Graphite Capital in November 2022 and where I leave the DS team with great pride to execute the next 3 to 5 year growth plan and allow me to meet a personal objective to restart my PKF consulting and enablement business.

2010-2020

Global Head of Digital Transformation

Reported to various members of the Nokia Executive team over 10 years including Group CIO and Group COO for last 4 years following the Alcatel Lucent M&A. I led the new technology sales development and GTM initiatives across Nokia’s Global Services, 5G and Telco Cloud portfolios along with leading Nokia’s global digital transformation and development of the Nokia Digital Platform for 5G GTM. Original engagement was PKF but was asked to join full time due to criticality of role and access to executive business critical systems.

Reporting directly to the MD of ATIS ( Accenture Technology Infrastructure Services ) a newly formed group in Accenture offering E2E IT and Network managed services. Led Accenture’s early specialist team development into the European Communications Services Providers.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director of BT's Finance and Banking industry sector. Setup and ran the new Presales technical team supporting the BT global Finance sales teams across MPLS / IP / UC / DataCenter / Hosting and Security solutions. 

1995-2002

Head of Enterprise Solutions

Formed and led the new Enterprise Solutions Group. This was a new go to market for Computacenter in setting up presales capability and managed services sales teams to support the large and extremely well focused Computacenter direct sales force.  Our primary development was around the new growth areas of IT Network Services SAN / NAS Storage driving new relationships for Computacenter across Cisco, Nortel, 3Com as well as HDS, EMC, Netapps and Veritas.  Developed the presales team across the UK to support the Computacenter sales teams in delivering multi-vender, technology led integrated solutions as well as working closely with the delivery teams within Computacenter to develop engineering, consulting and managed services capability.
